Monza Racetrack

One of the oldest and most famous race tracks in the world, third for date of construction and today second only to that of Indianapolis among those still utilized for races, the Autodromo Nazionale of Monza is a fascinating racetrack, hosting the Italian Formula One Grand Prix since this type of races began.

It was built in 1922 using some of the paths already present in the Parco Reale of Monza, a Royal Park which is best defined as a reserve, since its extension is in excess of 685 hectares (that is, 6,850,000 square metres). It includes some of the best-preserved examples of natural environment within a densely urbanized area, as well as counting the Villa Reale, a stately residence used by Savoy family until the assassination of king Humbert I of Italy in 1900.

It then represents one of the best excuses to link passionate about sport and culture, and all this is just 30 kms away from San Martino Quality Hotel, a veritable pied-à-terre in Lombardy.
